Manchester to Cairo Expansion

A centerpiece of this network update is the introduction of a new direct service from Manchester to Sphinx International Airport (SPX) in Egypt. The route will operate twice weekly, with the inaugural flight scheduled for November 9, 2026. By utilizing the Sphinx facility, which is located closer to the Giza plateau than the main Cairo International Airport, the airline offers a strategic advantage for tourists seeking efficient access to cultural sites. This service is supported by existing Bilateral Air Services Agreements between the UK and Egypt, facilitating the necessary traffic rights for scheduled operations.

Newcastle Base Scaling

Newcastle International Airport (NCL) has emerged as a key beneficiary of the airline’s regional strategy. Since establishing a base at the airport in March 2026, the carrier has rapidly expanded its footprint, with these latest additions bringing the total network count at the facility to 31 routes. This represents a fourfold increase in capacity in less than a year, placing significant operational focus on NCL to manage increased terminal throughput and ground handling requirements during the winter months. According to easyJet, these additions are designed to offer greater regional connectivity for local passengers.

New International Links

Beyond Manchester and Newcastle, the expansion reaches smaller regional hubs, including Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY). The airport will secure its first-ever international route with the airline, featuring weekly flights to Geneva starting January 16, 2027. This development is expected to bolster winter revenue streams for the airport and improve accessibility for travelers in the southwest of England. The airline’s UK Country Manager, Kevin Doyle, noted that the overall route additions are intended to provide customers with more choice for winter sun, ski, and adventure travel directly from their local airports.
